BELGIUM 0 ITALY 2
Considering the footballing history of these two nations, it's a sign of changing football times that less than 25% of managers predicted an Italy win. Maybe things aren't changing as much as we think... Italy secure a 2-0 win. Only Germany had previously won by more than one goal.
Of 24 who predicted the Italy win, four of them went for 2-0. Morags Minnows halted a gradual decline which had seen them start the day in 3rd but slip to 8th. After tonight's match saw a hefty 30 teams lose 2 points, Morag finishes the day climbing a place to 2nd. |
PREDICTOR OF THE DAYThe Woodenmen and Kin: The Duke Spirit were looking with good with 10 points each after the first two matches, but both predicted a Belgium win. Monday's top scorer is Harry Jnr White with 9 points: Harry's Team climb nine places to 5th. Over the course of the day, Notts Co USA have doubled their lead at the top from 1 point to 2. |
IRELAND 1 SWEDEN 1
Such a positive performance from my beloved boys in green - heartbroken that they only came away with 1 point, and somewhat concerned with Belgium and Italy to come. 1-1 was a popular result with 17 spot-on, including Notts Co USA who notch their fifth perfect score and go 3 points clear. It's becoming a bit of a Keenan show at the top with Brendan at the summit and Megan's 23 Lions climbing to 2nd... she also had 1-1. |
SPAIN 1 CZECH REPUBLIC 0
Well the vast majority had Spain to win this one (81 of us), though only nine got the correct score. The highest of those is The Hotshots, and Tom Brunton climbs five places to 4th as a result. A correct margin for Notts Co USA - having predicted 2-1 - doubles their lead at the top from 1 point to 2...! |
