HATS OFF TO BAGGERS
There may have only been two matches on Tuesday, but it's a mightily impressive performance to get both spot-on. Well done to Jane Baggers who climbs a huge 50 places from 60th to equal 10th, following a 10 point haul on a day where 44 teams scored minus points, and 97 of 110 scored 2 points or less.
Euro Remain Alone must have feared another bad day when they saw their random scores come in... but Barbara Willingham's team also picked up 10 points and climb 27 places. |
PORTUGAL 1 ICELAND 1
Well an already amazing day following Hungary's win was topped off by the delight of seeing Iceland hold Portugal. 81 teams (87%) predicted Portugal to win. Of the remaining 12 that predicted, five actually went for an Iceland win so only seven teams (7.5%) collected points in this match, along with some who left the score to randomise. |
AUSTRIA 0 HUNGARY 2
Party time at our house tonight, what a terrific return to European Championship action after 44 years. Less than 20% of teams predicted the Hungary win, with just over half of us predicting Austria to win - and so losing 2 points. The majority of the 18 who correctly predicted the result went for a one-goal margin and gain 2 points... the big winners are the four teams (plus one random) that got the score spot-on.
Leaders Notts Co USA lost 2 points while Morag's Minnows predicted the draw. So the two are now level on points with Notts still top with more exact scores. 23 Lions stay 3rd despite scoring -2, while The Cow Beneath The Sea were the highest placed team to pick up the maximum 5 points and Theo Fox climbs to equal 3rd. |
