TUESDAY REVIEW
Morag's Minnows are back in business, in some style. A leader in the early days of the competition, Morag had slipped as far as 43rd, but a stonking 13 point performance on a day when others struggled sees the Minnows climb a huge 34 points to 9th.
Notts Co USA picked up their 11th correct score and - with 23 Lions falling apart - increase their lead by a further 3 points, to 13. The Lions' demise does finally mean Brendan Keenan has a new challenger in 2nd, and that's Graeme McKean's Saudi Arabia U16s. Graeme climbs three places to 2nd today, while Game of Throw-Ins - who had been gradually eroding 23 Lions' lead - stay 3rd despite at last overtaking Megan. |
CROATIA 2 SPAIN 1
66 teams lost 2 points for predicting a Spain win here, with only 7 going for the Croatia win. Well done in particular to the four managers who went for 2-1 and therefore gain 7 points on most of the opposition. Moira's chancers are the top team to do so (17th at the start of the day), but -2 from the other three matches today leaves Moira with a daily score of just 3. |
CZECH REPUBLIC 0 TURKEY 2
Bit of a surprise this one - with only 18 predicting a Turkey win, and not a single team going for 0-2. Best of the bunch then were the three who predicting 3-1 to collect 3 points. |
NORTHERN IRELAND 0 GERMANY 1
A massive 88 of 99 predicting managers rightly thought Germany would prevail, but just two got the score. Amazingly enough, neither of those was our leaders. They came from opposite ends of the table - Heads High Fives (105th at the beginning of the day) and The Woodenmen (4th).
Finally the Keenan duopoly is broken - 23 Lions have collected 2 points from the two 17:00 kick-offs, while two correct margins for Game of Throw-Ins gives them 6 points and they are up to 2nd. |
UKRAINE 0 POLAND 1
Half of us (48) went for Poland to win this one, with 12 getting the score spot on, and a further 21 picking up 3 points for the correct margin. And yep, it's correct score number 11 for Notts Co USA... But while Brendan goes from strength to strength, the teams in 3rd, 5th and 6th all gained 3 points on 2nd placed Megan Keenan. |
